What do I love about working for the college? What do I do for the college?
I get to work with fantastic scholars from across UT and from around the world, who are all doing really interesting research! I love how much my position lets me do a variety of different jobs, from graphic design and communications to event planning to working with graduate students. I love getting to work and collaborate with staff members around the college. It’s very comforting to know that—whatever I might need—there is someone out there who can help me or knows who to talk to elsewhere to help me take care of whatever I need to do for my job.
I have become a major UT sports fan since coming here and try to get to at least one football game a year. I want to start getting to baseball games and other events too. I have also enjoyed the opportunity to help support the college through serving on various committees, including the Consortium on Social and Cultural Inquiry and job search committees.
What do I do for the college?
The Marco Institute Program Manager role wears a lot of hats: I work in design and communications, finance and administration, event planning, service on various Marco committees, public outreach efforts, and more. As the sole staff member in the institute, I enjoy the opportunity to directly support the work of our students and faculty in all they do, be it research, teaching, or social activities.
For the Medieval and Renaissance Studies interdisciplinary program, I help coordinate events and undergraduate clubs, including the Historical European Martial Arts Club, alongside the Riggsby Director of the Marco Institute and our Teaching Assistant Professor in Medieval and Renaissance Studies.

I appreciate knowing that my work is recognized within the Marco Institute, as well as in the college more broadly. The Marco Institute is a world-renowned center, and it gives me pride to know that I’m helping contribute to that reputation.
