What do I love about working for the college?

There are so many things that I am grateful for in my position with UT and the College of Arts and Sciences. The friends that I have made on my employment path, the experiences I’ve gained, and the collaborative atmosphere have truly given me so much fulfillment and are but a small part of why I enjoy working here. Through several challenges that I’ve faced over the years, I have learned that these can be not only overcome but can also be building blocks for further growth as a professional and as a person. I hope that I can continue to be a positive contributor to the college and UT through my continued journey.

I enjoy walking around campus, appreciating the buildings, landscaping, and general atmosphere of UT. Outside of work, I am a flutist with the Grace Notes Flute Choir in Maryville. I have been playing for 30 years, and my instruments include the piccolo, concert flute, alto flute, and bass flute.

What do I do for the college?

I provide support to the Human Resource functions and processes for the college and departments. These tasks can include search support, hiring guidance and processing, payroll adjustments, records management, faculty appointment processing, etc. My responsibilities impact employed students, faculty, and fellow staff.

I have been in several other roles at UT since 2015: administrative specialist with Child and Family Studies, admissions coordinator at the English Language Institute (CGE), human resources specialist at the College of Nursing, and academic personnel specialist at the Vice Provost of Faculty Affairs’ office.

Kudos Program

It is humbling to be acknowledged for doing things that I don’t expect recognition for. I enjoy assisting others with fulfilling their responsibilities, and that in itself is rewarding for me. However, I appreciate the kudos program to give individuals the opportunity to be recognized for their contributions to the university, college, and peers.
