“What I enjoy most about my work in the College of Arts and Sciences is the variety and the opportunity to help others succeed.”

What do I love about working for the college?

What I love most about working at UT and in the College of Arts and Sciences is the people and the sense of community. I get to work with talented individuals across a variety of disciplines, and there is always something new to learn. I also enjoy the collaborative environment and the variety that comes with supporting multiple departments. Just when I think I’ve seen it all, a new challenge comes along and proves me wrong!

No two days are ever the same: I might be working on budgets one minute and solving an unexpected administrative challenge the next. Supporting multiple departments at once has made me part business manager, part air traffic controller, and part professional juggler. The problem-solving, collaboration, and occasional ability to prevent a small issue from becoming a five-alarm fire are what make the work so rewarding.

What do I do for the college?

As the business manager for the Shared Services unit, I am fortunate to lead an exceptional team of four. Together, we provide comprehensive administrative and business support for the Departments of Africana Studies, Classics, Philosophy, and Religious Studies, as well as partial support for the Departments of Political Science and Sociology. Our team often partners with other departments/units across the college, providing extra support during staff vacancies, peak workload periods, and/or special projects.

Kudos Program

Receiving kudos makes me feel valued and appreciated. I put a great deal of effort into my work, so being recognized for that effort is both rewarding and motivating.
