UT’s Digital Project Cultivator (DPC) is soliciting applications from UT faculty members working on digital projects, especially early or transitioning projects or projects that require digital tools available at UT Knoxville and librarian expertise. The goal of DPC is to help these projects reach the next stage of development, including pursuing external grants, and to facilitate collaboration between faculty in the College of Arts & Sciences and Library colleagues with relevant expertise. These partnerships will include:

  • Access to The Studio, including multimedia workstations, production software, and other specialized tools.
  • Guidance on project management, including organizational structure, workflows, publishing, and sunsetting your project.
  • Coordinated access to and collaboration with Library colleagues in relevant fields, subject to their availability and interest.
  • Internship opportunities with students connected to the Digital Humanities graduate certificate program and undergraduate minor.
  • When possible, training in software and digital tools that are connected or relevant to your project.

We anticipate selecting 1-2 projects during the inaugural 2024-25 application cycle. To apply, please submit a CV and a project description of no more than 1,500 words, including 1) project overview, 2) summary of previous work on the project, 3) primary activities you hope to achieve during the DPC partnership, 4) methods and technologies used, and 5) projected project timeline and dissemination.

Application packages should be emailed to Dr. Hilary Havens (hhavens1@utk.edu) with “DPC Application” in the subject line by December 5. Faculty selectees will be notified by January 15.
