Important update for scheduling appointments
Hello incoming and returning students! We cannot wait to see you again this Fall 2024 semester and wanted to update you on how to schedule an advising appointment, should you need or want one. We are in the middle of transitioning to a new scheduling system, but still want to provide appointment availability for anyone who needs it. As we work through building out appointment scheduling functionality in our new system, we are more than happy to schedule an appointment for anyone via phone call to our appointment line at 865-974-4483 or via email at asadvising@utk.edu.
We have also attached instructions below for future use of our new system, once we have all the details worked out and are able to enter our advisor’s availability. Please keep these instructions in mind for future use.

Recently readmitted to the University
- Call 865-974-4483 or stop by 313 Ayres Hall to schedule an appointment.
Scheduling with a member of your Vol Success Team (Advisor, Coach, etc.)
- Schedule your appointment online through Vol Connect. Here is how:
- Log into your MyUTK account.
- Scroll down to the “Academic Resources” section at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the “Vol Connect” link.
- Click “Connect” from the options at the top of the screen and select “Schedule Appointments” from the dropdown menu.
- Click the blue “Schedule an Appointment” button.
- Select the “Assigned” tab.
- Select your “Advisor.”
- Select the appropriate topic and subtopic.
- Select the preferred date, time, and modality.
- Indicate what you would like to discuss during your appointment in the comment box.
- To confirm the appointment, click “Schedule ___ Appointment.” Your appointment will NOT be saved until you click this button.
- Please call 865-974-4483 if you have problems scheduling your appointment online.
Scheduling with a person/office outside of your Vol Success Team
- Schedule your appointment online through Vol Connect. Here is how:
- Log into your MyUTK account
- Scroll down to the “Academic Resources” section at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the “Vol Connect” link.
- Click “Connect” from the options at the top of the screen and select “Schedule Appointments” from the dropdown menu.
- Click the blue “Schedule an Appointment” button.
- Select the “Teams” tab.
- Select the team you would like to meet with.
- Select the appropriate topic and subtopic.
- Select the preferred date, time, staff member, and modality.
- Indicate what you would like to discuss during your appointment in the comment box.
- To confirm the appointment, click “Schedule ___ Appointment.” Your appointment will NOT be saved until you click this button.
- Please call 865-974-4483 if you have problems scheduling your appointment online.
Rescheduling or Cancelling an Appointment
- Reschedule or cancel your appointment online through Vol Connect. Here is how:
- Log into your MyUTK account.
- Scroll down to the “Academic Resources” section at the bottom of the page.
- Click on the “Vol Connect” link.
- Click “Connect” from the options at the top of the screen and select “Schedule Appointments” from the dropdown menu.
- Below the blue “Schedule an Appointment” button, you will see a list of all Upcoming scheduled appointments.
- Click “Reschedule or Cancel” and choose whether you want to “Reschedule” or “Cancel Appointment.”
- If rescheduling, select a new date, time, and modality. Click through the subsequent windows to confirm the changes to your appointment.
- If cancelling, indicate your reason for cancelling in the box provided and click “Cancel Appointment.”
- Ensure that you see the change reflected in your upcoming appointments before exiting Vol Connect.
- Please call 865-974-4483 if you have problems rescheduling or cancelling your appointment online.

Prospective Students
Our advisors are happy to meet with students who are interested in transferring to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and pursuing one of the majors in the College of Arts & Sciences. To schedule a prospective appointment, call 865-974-4483. Please be sure to mention you are a prospective student.
Please note that during peak advising (October – December and March – May), our first available appointment could be two weeks from the day you call.

Appointment Scheduling FAQ’s
What does it mean if Vol Connect says “No available time found in the next week?”
Your advisor may be fully booked for that week, you can try looking at the next week available, but please note appointments are not available beyond two weeks. If you are still having issues with scheduling an appointment, please call our office at 865-974-4483.
How can I confirm my appointment was scheduled?
You will receive an email confirmation after you schedule your appointment. If you do not receive the confirmation, first check your spam folder, if it is not located there either, the appointment was not scheduled.
Can I schedule an appointment with my faculty advisor through Vol Connect?
You will want to contact your faculty advisor through email regarding scheduling an appointment.
