Community Reading Groups
The Denbo Center for Humanities and the Arts Community Reading Groups connect members of the Knoxville community and the UT community with sustained, engaged reading and discussion in the areas of humanities and the arts.
Conversations and Cocktails
Conversations & Cocktails is a free public lecture and discussion series that showcases the original research of our distinguished UT arts and humanities faculty. Join us as we feature groundbreaking work exploring a wide range of topics in the arts and in humanities fields such as philosophy, history, and literature studies.
Distinguished Lecture Series
This series brings acclaimed humanities scholars and renowned artists to the Knoxville campus and connects the University of Tennessee and Knoxville community to the best researchers in their fields.
Film Series
In partnership with the local theater, Central Cinema, the Denbo Center for Humanities and the Arts features a series of film screenings throughout the year related to the annual theme.
Origins Series
“Origins” is a public engagement series hosted by the Denbo Center for Humanities and the Arts that explores the unexpected foundations of the region—stories that define place, but do not necessarily fit the standard narratives of the South, region, and Knoxville specifically.
