Institute for Climate and Community Resilience
The Institute for Climate and Community Resilience (ICCR) is an interdisciplinary research institute focused on advancing climate science and building equitable solutions for communities from Appalachia to around the world.
ICCR brings together teams of natural and social scientists, engineers, policy experts, and other scholars to tackle complex challenges in climate and community resilience. By combining diverse expertise, the Institute develops knowledge and approaches that are relevant locally, regionally, and globally.
The Institute prioritizes collaborative, community-engaged research, partnering with communities to address locally grounded challenges while producing actionable, equitable solutions.
Through these interdisciplinary teams and sustained community collaboration, ICCR drives innovation in climate resilience, leveraging the unique risk and vulnerability profile of the Southern Appalachian region to inform strategies for communities worldwide.
