Rhonda Wallace, Chemistry Department staff member since 2003, has been awarded the 2026 Mary Lynn Glustoff Clerical Award for her exceptional service to the department.
Rhonda Wallace, the department head administrative associate in the UT Department of Chemistry, received the 2026 Mary Lynn Glustoff Clerical Award.
Wallace, who joined the Department of Chemistry in 2003, has served in her current role since 2014. She was nominated for the award by faculty in the department.
“Although I have only been in the department for a few months, it is clear that she is highly dedicated to ensuring that the main office operates efficiently and ensures that our students and faculty are supported in their work,” said Kevin Shaughnessy, chemistry department head. “Rhonda goes above and beyond in her service to the Department of Chemistry.”
First awarded in 1999, the Mary Lynn Glustoff Award is presented annually to a non-exempt staff member in the College of Arts and Sciences who has been serving UT for at least five years. The award winners demonstrate outstanding customer service, positive attitude, attentiveness to students, a strong work ethic, and efficient and productive work habits.
The award is in memory of Mary Lynn Glustoff, who served as the principal secretary in the School of Art for 25 years. It is funded by her husband, Errol Glustoff. The award recipient is chosen by Errol Glustoff and a committee of previous award recipients.
“[The award] shows appreciation and kindness for my daily work. It speaks volumes that there are colleagues who appreciate the time and effort for the work I do,” Wallace said. “I am beyond thankful for the award and the funds.”
Wallace will be presented with her award at a luncheon later this spring with the previous award winners.
