Administrative Assistant for Melissa Parker
I enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, gardening and bike riding with my husband. I am an avid member of the Y and head to the gym daily when I leave campus. Growing up in Pittsburgh your choice of colors are black and gold. I passed on my love of cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins to my sons. Morning lattes are a must for me and Karen Kingsbury is one of my favorite authors.

I grew up in a large family and witnessed the hard work ethics of my parents. As a first generation college student, hard work pushed my desire to be a lifelong learner, to face challenges and still succeed. I believe we can prepare our children to be lifelong learners if we give them the tools to cultivate their own gardens of knowledge – reading skills, strong work ethics and to realize the potential impact that core values and practicing virtues can have on their lives. I think these tools will give them a strong foundation to build upon their desire to learn and be successful in their endeavors.
