Biography

Travel is a huge passion of mine and if you can’t find me planning a trip, you can almost guarantee I’m daydreaming about one. My next big adventure will hopefully be to the beautiful state of Maine or to visit friends in Okinawa, Japan –where I was actually born! If you have a favorite place in the world, tell me about it and it may just find its way on my adventure list! My favorite things include: finding an amazing deal at a thrift store, playing board games or sharing a meal with friends, discovering a coffee shop with the perfect Instagram aesthetic, baking a new Tasty recipe, quoting The Office and Legally Blonde, and playing with kittens. I am a huge fan of going to sporting events and enjoy cheering for the Chicago Blackhawks, talking about my time at Clemson during two National Championship football seasons, and rooting for my new favorite SEC football team…Go Vols!

B.A., History, Sociology minor, College of Charleston, Charleston, SC

M.Ed., Counselor Education (Student Affairs), Clemson University, Clemson, SC

Educational Philosophy

I see the world as one big classroom and every experience or interaction as lessons that forms us. The more you open yourself up to new knowledge, challenges, and experiences, the more dynamic and deeper your education (and growth) will be. Be present. Be open. Remain curious. Actively listen. College is about learning, failing, growing, adapting, and becoming the best possible version of yourself. Believe it or not, you have the power to achieve success. Not just because you take the right classes or get a great internship, but because you are the only one that can define it for yourself. Higher education is not just a class, a notebook full of notes, or a diploma; it’s an investment in an enriched life.
