Staff Recognized for Outstanding Service

Angela Staley, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and Rhonda McClellan, Department of Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures, received the Mary Lynn Glustoff Clerical Support Staff Award.

Errol Glustoff established this special award in memory of his wife Mary Lynn Glustoff, who provided outstanding service for more than 20 years as principal secretary in the School of Art. Those who knew her write and speak of her special ability to calm and comfort those in need, while finding the support needed with the knowledge of one who has been supporting a unit for many years. It seems that Mary Lynn knew all the ins-and-outs of the college and university of her time.

She was the university’s first recipient of an award for Extraordinary Customer Service. Lynn fought a courageous 15-year battle with cancer, a battle that redefined the concept of strength. The disease that ultimately took her life September 22, 1997, never deterred her from providing joy to, and support for, those she loved.

The Mary Lynn Glustoff Clerical Support Staff Award is available to non-exempt, clerical support staff members who are currently employed by UT, within the College of Arts and Sciences. The employee(s) given this award must have been employed a minimum of five years at UT. The awardee is someone who has demonstrated outstanding customer service, positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and efficient and productive work habits.

Congratulations to Angie and Rhona on your extraordinary achievements!
