Armentrout Receives 2023 Academic Support Award

For more than 35 years, Pam Armentrout has been a dedicated and hardworking member of the Department of Mathematics. As the graduate coordinator, Pam has made a significant impact on the success of the graduate program and exhibited outstanding proficiency in advising and mentoring graduate students.

Pam demonstrates her commitment to outstanding service and support for math graduate students and sets an example for consistently providing excellent academic support for and service to math faculty. She serves as a liaison for faculty and graduate students in the math department. Pam’s professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitude make her an invaluable member of the math department who has been instrumental in enhancing the academic experience for both students and faculty members. Her unwavering passion for supporting graduate students has translated into tangible results within the department in student recruitment, retention, and success.

Pam has enhanced the overall quality of the graduate program through her support with developing the industrial math master’s program from the ground up. The proposal was approved by faculty and will submitted to the college this fall. Pam also collaborated with faculty to ensure curricula align with the demands and meet the evolving needs of our students. Through her meticulous attention to detail, Pam helped successfully implement new courses and a new GTA teaching advising program.

Her exceptional dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to support academic excellence and graduate student well-being and success have had a profound and positive impact on the math graduate program and the students and faculty she works with in the department.
