{"id":23144,"date":"2024-12-09T19:23:21","date_gmt":"2024-12-09T19:23:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/humanitiescenter.utk.edu\/?post_type=news_item&#038;p=23144"},"modified":"2026-07-22T09:52:13","modified_gmt":"2026-07-22T13:52:13","slug":"cfa-dhsi-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artsci.utk.edu\/denbocenter\/cfa-dhsi-2025\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applications: 2025 Digital Humanities Summer Institute"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Application Deadline: January 6, 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Denbo Center for Humanities &amp; the Arts at the University of Tennessee, in partnership with the Digital Humanities Summer Institute (DHSI), is providing funding for a week-long course at the <a href=\"https:\/\/dhsi.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2025 Digital Humanities Summer Institute<\/a>, held at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al in Canada. Tentative dates for the course are May 26-30 and June 2-6, 2025. \u00a0The Denbo Center will cover the course registration fees for 5 UT attendees (faculty and graduate students) and provide a stipend of $1500 per attendee to help cover their travel and lodging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DHSI is the largest and longest running DH training event, offering a variety of foundational and advanced courses related to practical and theoretical topics in digital humanities, digital history, open-access publishing, digital pedagogy, game studies and design, digital exhibits, and other related areas. Courses run over the course of two weeks (only one course can be taken per week) and there are also various speakers throughout the two sessions and a colloquium. The tentative course list is pasted below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To apply for funding, please submit a 250-word statement of interest and an updated CV to&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:humanitiesctr@utk.edu\">humanitiesctr@utk.edu<\/a>&nbsp;<strong>by Monday, January 6, 2025<\/strong>, with your information, the two courses you are interested in, and how these courses would be relevant to your research. Be as specific as possible about how attending a course would help your current research productivity. &nbsp;If you apply and are selected, you must commit to booking your registration through the Denbo Center as soon as the registration portal opens in early 2025 and to giving a short summary report about the course experience to the Denbo center.
