Personal Interests

Traveling is my favorite activity, and I am always thrilled to talk about it! I enjoy hiking and nature, and I recently discovered that I love kayaking. Flowers and plants bring me joy. Cozy chairs and reading make the perfect combination. A Harry Potter enthusiast from a young age, I am a Ravenclaw with some Hufflepuff tendencies. If I lived in Middle Earth, I would probably be an Ent. I also enjoy Doctor Who, Sherlock, and mysteries.

Education

B.A., Global Studies & Foreign Languages: French, History minor, Middle Tennessee State University

In progress - M.S., College Student Personnel, University of Tennessee - Knoxville

Educational Philosophy

Education encompasses more than attending class and graduating when you have fulfilled all requirements. It is not something you receive. Rather, it requires active engagement and exploration in your academic and co-curricular interests and activities. Education does not have an endpoint, nor is its sole purpose to prepare students for employment. As lifelong process, it hones your ability to seek new knowledge, to solve problems, to act as an informed citizen, and to satisfy your curiosities.
