Joy Harjo

Professor Harjo is a world-renowned poet, musician, author, and playwright whose art reflects her deep commitment to Native American rights and her membership in the Muscogee Tribe. Among her many publications are a memoir and twelve books of poetry. Her most recent volume of poetry is Conflict Resolution for Holy Beings. In 2015, she won the Academy of American Poets' Wallace Stevens Prize for outstanding and proven mastery in the art of poetry.

Joy Harjo will be playing tenor sax with her band at the welcome reception. Refreshments will be served.
